Kahne is a big, strong, square built labrador with the temper of a teddy bear.  He is a very strong swimmer and medium paced upland bird retriever.  Kahne has a great nose and bird sense.  Kahne had a good hunting season last year.  He hunted more than any of the other dogs.  He flushed and retrieved lots of birds.  He has good stamina, hunts all day.  He is always watching me and never gets too far ahead, sometimes have to give him commands to work further ahead of me.  He works slowly in heavy cover, doesn't cover a lot of ground but his nose and sharp eyes seem to make up for that.  He doesn't miss many birds.  Kahne was very easy to train.  He has a very calm temperment and learns commands very quickly.  As big as Kahne is, the kids seem to like to play with him the most.  He will lay down with them and let them crawl over and step on him and he just loves the attention.  Kahne will sire a lot of puppies in our kennel.  I have kept 2 of his offspring to use for future breeding in our kennel.  Must see him in person to appreciate what a beautiful dog he is.
