Feeding your Labrador Puppy
Hip
and elbow problems may stem from puppies being fed premium dog foods such as “puppy”, “high energy”,
“premium”, or “performance”. Premium foods also include table scraps and human food. It
is required that you do not feed these premium foods to your Labrador until at least 18 months old, until the bone development
is completed. Feeding such premium foods voids this guarantee. Labrador puppy
must be fed a reputable brand of large breed puppy formula or an original adult formula for the first 18 months.
Puppy must be kept in good health but not overweight. Overweight dogs are a result of
poor feeding and causes improper joint growth and cardiovascular health which in turn shortens the life of the dog.
Overweight Labradors are void of this guarantee. Ask your veterinarian for feeding recommendations.
Your puppy will already be on a vaccination and deworming schedule. Please take these
records to your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may have additional or different vaccines and treatments for your areas.
It is important, for proper growth and health of the puppy, to continue a vaccination and deworming schedule.
Failure to provide immunity against disease and parasites, and provide overall health of your
Labrador puppy with regular veterinarian visits voids this guarantee.
With this guarantee you, the buyer, must
agree to take good care of the puppy. To raise a happy, healthy Labrador puppy you must provide adequate quality food,
plenty of fresh water, proper shelter or housing, and medical care. You must agree to provide the puppy with lots of
loving attention, proper training, proper exercise and general care such as brushing, bathing (if needed) and flea, tick,
fly, and mosquito control.
If at any time you feel that you cannot provide the proper care or attention the
puppy deserves, please contact Dakota Wind Labradors and we will assist you in finding a new home for the puppy. If
puppy becomes ill or is injured and you cannot afford medical bills or don’t know if spending a lot of money on vet
bills is the healthiest choice for the puppy, please contact Dakota Wind Labradors and we can assist you with a decision for
the best health of the puppy.
