Health Guarantee
Your puppy
is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of the sale. If, within 72 hours after you take possession
of the puppy, it is found by a licensed veterinarian not to be in good health, you may return the puppy and receive a full
refund of the purchase price. A refund will only be given when the puppy, all paperwork, including AKC
registration application, are returned with a copy of the veterinarian’s report. Dakota Wind Labradors is not
responsible for traveling or shipping costs associated with returning the puppy or any veterinary costs accumulated by you.
Your puppy is guaranteed to be free from hip and elbow dysplasia for
a period of 30 months from the date of birth. If the puppy is found to have hip or elbow dysplasia, you
must notify us, Dakota Wind Labradors, as soon as you become aware of the problem.
Puppy is guaranteed a normal evaluation (Excellent, Good, or Fair on hips, Normal on elbows) from OFA.
If
hip or elbow dysplasia is suspected, the following steps need to be taken:
~The puppy needs
to be x-rayed by a licensed veterinarian and the films must be evaluated by the OFA. A copy of the OFA
report must be sent to Dakota Wind Labradors immediately. The OFA will be the sole judge regarding hip and elbow
dysplasia.
~Dakota Wind Labradors requires you, the purchaser,
to forward to us, Dakota Wind Labradors, a veterinarian’s statement that the puppy has been spayed or neutered as to
not pass on this genetic defect, along with the AKC registration papers for the puppy.
Dakota Wind Labradors then agrees to replace your puppy with one of comparable price, sex and color as soon as one
becomes available.
If replacement puppy has a higher price than puppy
being replaced, you, the purchaser, are responsible for the price difference.
Dakota Wind Labradors is not responsible for traveling or shipping costs associated with this transaction.
Dakota Wind Labradors is not responsible for any OFA fees or veterinarian costs accumulated by you, the purchaser.
Your puppy is also guaranteed to be
free of heritable eye disease for up to 12 months from date of birth.
If
you suspect that you puppy has a heritable eye disease the following steps need to be taken:
~Puppy
needs to be examined by a Certified Canine Ophthalmologist with CERF.
~If puppy does not
pass the CERF exam before 12 months of age and has not had an eye injury or infection in either eye, a copy of the Opthalomolgist’s
report must be sent to Dakota Wind Labradors.
~You must forward, to Dakota Wind Labradors, a veterinarian’s
statement that the puppy has been spayed or neutered as to not pass on this heritable defect.
~CERF
will be the sole judge on heritable eye disease.
Dakota Wind Labradors then agrees
to replace the puppy with one of comparable price, sex and color as soon as one becomes available.
If replacement puppy has a higher price than puppy being replaced, you, the purchaser, are
responsible for the price difference.
Dakota Wind Labradors is not
responsible for traveling or shipping costs associated with this transaction.
Dakota Wind Labradors is not responsible for any CERF fees or veterinarian costs accumulated by you, the purchaser.
All replacement puppies are considered final,
and no guarantee will be given on a replacement puppy.
~This guarantee is non-transferable if dog is sold to
a new owner.
~This guarantee is void if dog is bred before 24 months of age, as either
sire or dam of a litter, even if litter was not registered with AKC.
~This guarantee is void
if dog has been injured, malnutritioned, overweight, or used as a jumping or running dog during the growth period of 24 months.
~This
guarantee is void if dog was not registered with AKC.
Your puppy will already be on a vaccination and deworming schedule.
Please take these records to you’re veterinarian. Your veterinarian may have additional or
different vaccines and treatments for your areas. It is important, for proper growth and health of the
puppy, to continue a vaccination and deworming schedule.
With this guarantee
you, the buyer, must agree to take good care of the puppy. To raise a happy, healthy Labrador puppy you
must provide adequate quality food, plenty of fresh water, proper shelter or housing, and medical care. You
must agree to provide the puppy with lots of loving attention, proper training, proper exercise and general care such as brushing,
bathing (if needed) and flea, tick, fly, and mosquito control.
If at any time you feel that you can not provide the proper care or attention the puppy deserves, please contact Dakota
Wind Labradors and we will assist you in finding a new home for the puppy.
If
puppy becomes ill or is injured and you can not afford medical bills or don’t know if spending a lot of money on vet
bills is the healthiest choice for the puppy, please contact Dakota Wind Labradors and we can assist you with a decision for
the best health of the puppy.
