Camo came to Dakota Wind Labradors as a puppy in
June of 2007. She is a very smart, quick learning dog. Camo retrieved her first pheasant opening weekend 2007.
She had to run down a winged rooster. She didn't miss a beat, she caught the pheasant and brought it right
to me, just like she was retrieving a dummy in the yard. Early pheasant season 2008 she went hunting once
before she was bred. She flushed and retrieved 3 for 3 pheasants and 1 grouse. We are very excited
about Camo. She will produce some excellent puppies.
6/15/10 Camo has now had 3 litters of pups. I have seen some of the pups from her earlier litters and they look great
and people are really impressed with the pups hunting ability. Some of the pups have gone to other kennels to be used
for breeding and some have gone to hunting lodges for guide hunting dogs. Camo has become a very intelligent labrador.
She is a very fast paced, aggressive hunter. She had last hunting season off from puppies and got to hunt a lot.
When hunting with other dogs, they don't get to do much. She understands her distance and is very good at marking
down birds. She has done multiple retrieves many times. She was a little harder to train than some of the other
dogs because she has such a drive to hunt and wants to go, go, go. Around the yard she does not want to lay around and
have her belly rubbed, she wants to retrieve. The kids have fun throwing dummies for her, she is really good with them.
Camo is a great mother and will have several litters in the future.
